There is not (yet) a decent book on Mediterranean spiders. The best bet is to use the standard northern Europe guides and supplement with the few (mainly German) popular guides to Mediterranean insects and spiders (see below). At some stage it is necessary to get into primary literature to get to species.

Spanish Spiders
I will going to Costa del Sol for a week in December and wondered if there were any books on Spanish or southern European spiders?

Mites on spiders

I've recently collected a few spiders with tiny mites attached.  I've kept the specimens as vouchers with full details, i.e. spider species, grid reference, habitat, location etc.  Does anyone know of someone that would be interested in identifying the mites?  If so, please contact me with details or pass this request on.
