Thank you for your useful feedback, which will instigate some thought on how to improve ease of use. I would like some more specific information though please. I agree logging-on would be better located, but once logged-on the picture upload is on the top toolbar, so not sure what the problem is with picture upload. There is also an index which also has A-Z indexes to sites, species etc and a Search at the top of any page which will find any word/s used on the website.
The primary aim of the recording scheme website is to provide access to summary data on distribution and autecology of the 670+ British species, not to provide the means to add data/records, reports etc. However records can be submitted by any logged-on user for a number of 'easily recognisable' species. The vast majority of spiders cannot be reliably identified to species level in the field or from photographs, so the recording scheme has Area Organisers who verify, validate and collate records for their county/s and this is an essential way of ensuring a high scientific integrity of the data. These Area Organisers and Council members of the British Arachnological Society can input and change species text and pages on the website, but the main way for other users to submit reports is through the forum.
Can you explain what you mean by submit a report and location/address?
