DistributionThe species has been recorded from rather few, mostly coastal, sites in widely scattered counties in England and Wales. It is widespread in north-western and central Europe.
Habitat and ecology
The species occurs among detritus in marshes, on sand dunes, among stones and in wet tide litter on the sea shore. There are a few records from marshy sites inland. Adults have been found between April and June.
Status
Recorded from 12 hectads since 1992, with little evidence of decline, although most records have involved few individuals.
Threats
The drainage of marshes, and possibly public pressure at some coastal sites.
Management and conservation
Maintain the water table in marshes, and retain wet tide litter on sea shore.
