Species text
DistributionIn Britain this species has only been found along the Teign valley in Devon. It is also found in Southern and South-Western Europe and into Morocco.
Habitat and ecology
In Devon the spider is found on hot, sparsely vegetated, slopes often in association with the rare plant toadflax-leaved St John’s wort Hypericum linariifolium. The spiders biology is largely unknown, though like most Zelotinae they can be found by turning rocks, whereupon they run rapidly in the typical fashion. Smaller than most others of its tribe, adult specimens are easily dismissed as juveniles of their larger relatives. It is too early to make any statement about phenology.
